The silhouettes of our bodies glow
from your headlights
and we shiver soft from the cold hard rain
to drown our pain
we'll light our way
with a mutual hate
driven by the wind
and pretend that we love
our breakfast tomorrow
won't you leave me, love
to the birds i know
come for the kill
pick my body clean, I know they will
You say you want love
but you wont survive
I say I want love
But I closed my eyes
and we lay in the light
because we left our lives behind
Lets leave town
and run for the hills
where no one knows our names
W'ell get new jobs
and work for the kids
that we'll never have
the neighbors will call
to party til dawn
but the sun never comes
so leave me here
with my misery
theres nothing left to gain here, my love
Well... Like some people here, I never really liked that song! However, this is *so* much better than the original, for all the reasons already listed by deluded_marxist! The depth of feelings here, especially from the vocals but also the slow music, really is on a whole other level! Thanks to Tara Tantrum for taking me here! Highly recommended!!! bmurator
such a fun album that feels so comfortable and relatable. I specifically like the intro to this song because I take it as a positive reminder that women are sensual and fun but also strong, independent, and free haha Baylee Nguyen
